About Angela
Digital branding enthusiast and founder of Virtual Reality, Angela Blom has spent over 20 years working in the design and marketing space, helping brands adapt, evolve and grow in an ever-changing digital world.
What started as a side hustle has grown into a full-time digital marketing business, now running successfully for over 7 years. Along the way, Angela has worked with clients across a wide range of industries — including restaurants, accommodation, corporate, retail, logistics, agriculture and more — giving her a deep understanding of how different businesses operate and what actually works in the real world.
With a strong foundation in graphic design, Angela naturally expanded into website design, social media and digital marketing, learning to adapt as platforms, trends and algorithms changed. That ability to evolve — and to simplify complex digital concepts — is what she now brings into her training and workshops.
Through Skills Lab, Angela is passionate about empowering small business owners with practical knowledge, confidence and tools they can actually use — helping them take control of their marketing, show up consistently, and grow their businesses with clarity and purpose.

About Mel
Melanie Martin is a South African content creator and the founder of Cafe Couch — a platform rooted in real life, real connection, and real experiences.
Known for her honest, relatable approach, Mel loves working with brands to showcase local travel gems, great food, lifestyle finds, and the beautifully chaotic reality of life as a mom to three teenagers. Her content resonates because it’s genuine, trusted, and always grounded in storytelling that feels natural and human.
Through Cafe Couch, and in collaboration with Angela Blom of Skills Lab and Virtual Reality, Mel helps promote brands through authentic reviews, engaging content, and hands-on social media workshops. Together, they focus on creating meaningful connections between brands and audiences — not just content for the sake of posting.
Mel’s community values her transparency and down-to-earth style, and she’s passionate about helping others grow their confidence in social media.
